Mary Stikeleather-Piorunek
Mary has been the Emergency Management Director for Lapeer County since 1999. She received her Professional Emergency Manager (PEM) certification in 2001.

Mary has served on committees ranging from child safety seat installations to emergency food/sheltering committees. Currently, most of her time is spent being a member of the 3rd District Homeland Security Regionalization Board. Some of the accomplishments she is most proud of include: receiving the Storm Ready designation, the creation of an annual Family Preparedness Day, Annual Full Scale Exercising, dissemination of 300+ NOAA radios to daycare centers, government buildings, special need facilities and the general public; creation of a unified identification system/badge for all first responders and several preparedness brochures/newsletters.

On a personal note, Mary is married to John and has one son, Douglas who is 14. What she enjoys the most – attending each and every one of her son’s sporting events!
