Rob spent nearly a decade as a TV meteorologist in Lansing primarily on weekend newscasts and serving as the area’s severe weather expert. He left the weather field to work as a Regional Planner assigned to Eaton County in District 1. When Byron Callies moved out of the area for the Mayo Clininc, Rob was brought in as his replacement. He graduated last winter with a BS in Emergency Management and minor in Homeland Security from Jacksonville State University, and starts pursuit of a Master’s in Homeland Security / Public Health Preparedness from Penn State University this fall. Weather is never too far away, as he provides daily radio forecasts for stations throughout Michigan (and even in the deep south) and continues to chase tornadoes during stormy days. He looks forward to integrating with MEMA and continuing a great working relationship with the Region 1 Homeland Security Board. |
